The Proper Way to Shutdown A Netware File Server
- Make sure everyone is logged off the server and out of Lindsey Software.
- On the file server keyboard press and hold down the "CTRL" key while pressing the "ESC" key.
- The monitor will display a menu of choices. Select the number corresponding to "Backup Exec" and press "Enter"
- You should now be in the Backup Exec program. Press and hold the "CTRL" and then press the "X" key. This will exit you out of "Job Manager. You may have to answer yes to a prompt screen.
- Press "CTRL" + "ESC" again to take you to the list of choices. Choose the Advantage Database Server (ADS) screen number then press "Enter".
- Make sure that is displays "0" under the connections column. If so, press "F5" then answer "Y" to exit.
- Now press "CTRL" + "ESC" again to take to the list of choices. Choose number 1 and press "Enter"
- You will see a prompt with your housing authorities name listed next to it. At this prompt, type "DOWN" and press "Enter".
- The system will go through the unloading process and when complete it should be a the "C:\NWSERVER" prompt.
- Now you can turn the power switch off, wait a few minutes then turn the server back on.
- Once the server is up have everyone log back into the system.
